Jessica Lee MP Calls on Erewash Businesses to Be the Best That They Can Be With Manufacturing Excellence - Up to £20,000 free business consultancy available to all applicants! 30 March 2011 Jessica Lee MP is calling on local businesses to get in involved in the new Manufacturing Excellence programme to assess, develop and celebrate the best in UK manufacturing. Jessica Lee MP said: “Manufacturing Excellence can help businesses realise their full potential and provides an opportunity to celebrate local manufacturing successes. “I want to encourage businesses in Erewash to take part – entry is free, and there is the potential to get as much as £20,000 of free consultancy advice through the programme. If you choose, the completed audits can also be used as submissions for the MX Awards and businesses can participate in a knowledge sharing network of the greatest manufacturing companies and minds in the country.” The key ways to get involved in the Manufacturing Excellence programme are: • The Business Improvement Programme Manufacturing companies are asked to conduct an in-depth self assessment and those who complete one or more of the eight parts receive a free, bespoke and confidential benchmark report. The best companies in each module receive a visit from a team of expert assessors who verify the audit responses and offer practical advice and suggestions for the business. • The Manufacturing Excellence Awards Companies that complete at least one module of the audit by 10 June 2011 can also put themselves forward for the MX Awards 2011, or the ‘Oscars’ of the manufacturing world. Developed in conjunction with Warwick University’s Warwick Manufacturing Group, Manufacturing Excellence is the most successful and long established manufacturing awards programme in the UK, and the only one that provides such a detailed benchmarking and assessment process to help improve your manufacturing businesses.
