Free parking for Christmas
Erewash Borough Council is once again offering 24-hour FREE parking in all its car parks, with the exception of Long Eaton and Ilkeston Railway Stations, for the busy festive season.
The council has confirmed that its car parks will be free from Monday 10 December to Wednesday 26 December inclusive – a festive gift aimed at giving a major boost for town centre traders and shoppers during the run-up to Christmas.
Councillor Michael Powell, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning, says:
“The seasonal free parking scheme remains a key part of our on-going drive to support our town centres and we know it is warmly welcomed by traders, residents and visitors to the borough at this busy time of year.
“Now, more than ever, we all have a role to play in supporting retailers here in Erewash. ‘Shop Local’ is the call-to-action in the run-up to Christmas and beyond - if we all get behind this, we can make a difference. So please use the free parking to make the most of the excellent markets and shops in Ilkeston and Long Eaton, as well as local shops in villages across the borough.”
All of the council’s car parks are part of the scheme, with the exception of the Long Eaton Railway Station commuter car park. Ilkeston Railway Station commuter car park is not owned by the council.
