It’s ‘FREEcember’ . . . free festive parking!
Christmas shoppers are reminded that Erewash Borough Council’s 24-hour FREE parking starts on Monday 1 December in all its car parks. The council’s bumper ‘FREEcember’ boost will run until Saturday 3 January – the most extensive free festive parking offered by the council so far.The scheme is part of the council’s on-going town centre regeneration drive and is aimed at attracting visitors to the borough and encouraging residents to shop locally during the busy run-up to the festive season and into the New Year.
Councillor Barbara Harrison, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Environment, says:
“The extension of our annual free Christmas parking scheme to cover the whole of December is a major investment by the council and a clear demonstration of our commitment to helping and supporting both the business community and local residents.
“We have excellent markets and shops in Ilkeston and Long Eaton – and in villages across Erewash – so let’s all take advantage of ‘FREEcember’, do our Christmas shopping locally and support our borough.”
All of the council’s car parks are part of the scheme, with the exception of the Long Eaton Railway Station commuters’ car park.
